Whitney Flanagan

Whitney leads the conceptualization, strategy and implementation of The Conservation Fund's creative, marketing and communication efforts across channels and platforms. She drives integrated messaging outreach to current and prospective donors and partners, and collaborates with corporate partners such as Apple, Goldman Sachs, U-Haul and Volkswagen to create compelling co-branded marketing efforts resulting in web features, videos, point of purchase tools, and joint social media strategies. She is known for her genuine interest in people, and her ability to craft and tell compelling stories. Her passion for environmental and humanitarian causes has led her to spend the past 16 years working for organizations that make a difference for people, animals, and the planet in Washington, DC, San Francisco, CA, Santa Fe, NM, and Knoxville, TN. 

Before joining The Conservation Fund, she launched the first visual design program for the City of Knoxville, Tennessee, at the Knox County Health Department. There she lead marketing efforts related to community health for a metro area of more than half a million people. Whitney holds a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from East Tennessee State University, where she graduated with honors. She is a State Council member for the U.S. Humane Society, and currently resides in Denver, Colorado.
