Water & Environmental Chemistry Lab Manager, Freshwater Institute 

Natalie cropNatalie is the Water and Environmental Chemistry Laboratory Manager for the Freshwater Institute, where she began her work in 2014. Natalie earned her Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies and Aquatic Science from Shepherd University and is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Environmental Biology from Hood College.

While working for the Freshwater Institute, she has specialized in the study of alternative fuel sources for denitrification technologies as well as the utility of ultraviolet irradiance in reducing bacterial biofilms. She is responsible for the day-to-day workings of the laboratory as well as training new laboratory student interns and technicians. Daily, she performs numerous chemical, physical, and biological analyses of the aquaculture water and wastewater at the facility.
