Fish Culture Technician, Freshwater Institute

Anna DiCoccoAnna began as a Fish Culture Technician at the beginning of 2019. She is responsible for daily feeding, cleaning, and monitoring to maintain proper fish health and welfare. Starting from a young age Anna has always had a fish tank in her home. Come high school, her curiosity and passion for fish became obvious as that single fish tank expanded into six tanks. This led her to pursue a degree in Marine Biology from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington, graduating with a B.S. in 2016. Anna has worked at a shellfish hatchery helping to rebuild the Eastern Oyster population, at an AZA Aquarium maintaining marine exhibits, and at a Pacific salmon hatchery to optimize Alaska’s wild salmon populations for commercial and recreational uses.
